What I had found was that sometimes the cost of the marketing materials meant that I had to do a lot of my own graphics and flyers in order to keep my costs down. This, of course, cost me time and with all that I had going on it was nice to know that I wouldn't have to worry about this.
It also helped that the company does not have any monthly fees or sales requirements. This made it easier to add on as it wouldn't add to my costs and I could slowly build up my customer base without pressure to meet a certain sales number.
After signing up I waited for my enrollment kit to arrive. While I waited, my sponsor added me to the Facebook groups for stylists on her team as well as the company's stylist group.
From the first moments of checking out these groups I knew that I had just joined something that was unique and special. There is such a feeling of warmth and welcome that is present among the stylists and it felt good to be a part of such a positive group.
As with any organization, the overall vibe tends to trickle down from the top, and the leadership at Lilla Rose is incredible. The owner has such a positive, friendly and fun attitude. He often goes live in the stylist group to give information or congratulate stylists and always makes it high energy and fun.
Those who are in leadership roles are humble and more than willing to offer help to any stylist, whether they are on their team or not. In fact, so many of the stylists in these groups provide ideas, support, and information to others without a second thought to anything other than being helpful.
Once I had my kit I got myself signed up for some holiday vendor events. I wasn't sure if I would be able to find any spots available as most holiday events have reps from all the companies well in advance. That was another hidden benefit of the Lilla Rose opportunity, there is SO MUCH opportunity!
The company has been around for 8+ years and has grown at a steady pace but they are still on the small side. While many direct sales companies are household names, I have found that few have ever heard of Lilla Rose and those who have love it. It is so much fun introducing someone to the magic of the Lilla Rose hair accessories!
This also means that the sky is the limit as far as growing your business. While the company honors and supports those who only want to sell as a hobby (not typical within the industry), I would encourage anyone thinking of becoming a stylist to think bigger. There are so many people who have never had the chance to try Lilla Rose, which makes it a wide open market.
I can tell you from firsthand experience that selling a quality product is easy and fun. When I went to those first holiday events I figured that I would be introducing the Lilla Rose hair accessories to others and getting contact information for future follow up.
In the past, I had found that people were more likely to be curious about the products at vendor events and would get info and then think about it. I did not fully expect to find that they would sell as well as they did. In hindsight, I should have known just based on my own experience.
Time after time, I would show how the different accessories worked and then put them in the customer's hair. Time after time, they would love the way it worked and how it felt and purchase the accessory. When you have something that does what it says it will, and does it well, it is not hard for others to recognize that.
